What Is EUR/USD?
EUR/USD is the exchange rate between the euro and the U.S. dollar, expressing how many dollars it takes to buy one euro. It's the most heavily traded currency pair in the world by daily volume, a reflection of the size and liquidity of both the eurozone and U.S. economies, which together account for a large share of global trade and financial-market activity.
The pair is driven primarily by the relative monetary policy stances of the European Central Bank and the U.S. Federal Reserve — interest-rate differentials between the two currencies influence capital flows, since investors tend to move money toward whichever currency offers better risk-adjusted returns.
